Thank you to all those who helped make the Village Working parties so successful, once again. An amazing amount of work was completed around the War Memorial, Churchyard, Playground and Old Churchyard
Hopefully next year we can return to the hog dogs and beer round the fire to reward everyone for their efforts!

We are planning a village working party for Sunday 1st November from 10am.
We will be working in small teams in the Old Churchyard, the Playground, the War Memorial and the Churchyard. If you are keen to come along to help, please contact the Parish Clerk on 07811 322994 or brightwaltonpc@btinternet.com to let me know. In line with Covid restrictions, teams will not be mixing and sadly no refreshments can be served. Thank you Please join us on the morning of Sunday 8th October to help tidy up your village, and be rewarded with social get together with bacon butties/veggie sausages and refreshments around the bonfire for the workers lunch!
Tasks will include hedge cutting, weeding and general tidying all around the village. All help would be much appreciated, please bring tools - gloves, hedge cutters, rakes etc and meet on the village field from 10am. If anyone has a small trailer that they would be willing to use to help collect up the cuttings and the deliver to the bonfire that would be helpful too. Thank you Brightwalton Parish Council brightwaltonpc@btinternet.com The next collection will be Friday 6th January, and you can leave your Christmas tree next to the green bin and they will take it. The black bin the following week will be Thursday 12th and then it will be back to normal.
On a sunny day on the 15th October, villagers came together to help tidy up main areas of the village. Over 300 bulbs were planted at Dunmore Pond - we eagerly await the results in the Spring. The nettles in the Old Churchyard were cut back, the children's playground bark areas were topped up and the hedges cut back. The War Memorial and Churchyard were also given a full tidy up and clean. The workers were all rewarded with bacon butties and a beer.
A big thank you to all that took part, it is great we can all take pride in the village we live in. Brightwalton Parish Council |
