Sports & Social
Get involved. Have fun. Make friends.

There's much to get involved with here in Brightwalton

We pride ourselves with having a wonderful community spirit. We love to get together for various activities, events, socials and sports throughout the year.  Have a look below and see what you'd like to come along to.  If you have a group or event you'd like to add here or if you'd like to start a particular club then please get in touch.

Lifestyle

Downland Gardening Club
The Club is a very friendly and informal group, usually meeting on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7.30. with time for a raffle, chat, coffee and biscuits. Past programmes have included talks on bats, country crafts and canal boat painting as well as many varied gardening topics from experienced speakers. There are garden visits and both Winter and Summer Socials. Even if you have no garden or are unable to garden there is so much to enjoy.
Please contact Lea on 01488 638 488 or email
[email protected] for information.

Mobile Library
Following changes to West Berkshire libraries, the nearest Mobile library stops are Leckhampstead and Farnborough, dates and times for these can be found on here . There is also a At Home library service, again details for which can be found on the above web link.

Social

Katherine Moore - Brightwalton Community Co-ordinator.

Katherine’s role is to put together events and activities to help us bring the village together, encouraging the provision of mutual support and friendship. The role will specifically provide opportunities to get together, meet people, learn new things, share skills and information and where required opportunities to seek additional support.

A sample of the activities: Soup lunch once a month in the church, primary school Youth Club on Monday nights, various concerts in the church, craft activities and sales. Coffee Morning. See the calender, news posts and Brickleton News for details

If you feel you can add something and can spare a bit of time to help others in the village, Katherine would welcome you getting in touch with her at
